Anthea Weir is a New Zealand artist based on the Kapiti Coast and has a passion for art, design and illustration. She enjoys creating images that people love and are proud to own. After studying art, she trained as a graphic designer and loves fusing illustration, art and design together. Collage art is Anthea’s specialty and she uses various types of paper and applies them like a paint palette to create new work from existing images, shapes and patterns. Each piece of art is meticulously constructed with hundreds of small torn pieces. The final effect can often be mistaken for hand painted work, but when approached closer, the viewer is surprised to discover it was created by a technique called collage.
