Auckland ceramicist Renee Boyd has constructed these ceramic works using a slab building technique and hand carved moulds. She can then individualise pieces with the introduction of stenciling and patterning, while applying layers of clay slips and glazes designed by herself to enhance the ceramic surface. Each piece is fired in a kiln to 1220 degrees to stoneware temperatures which gives great strength and durability to the work. She has a Diploma in Ceramics and all of her work is proudly made in New Zealand to the highest standards.
