The Silvan, which was once a beautiful art gallery and cafe in Selwyn Street, Christchurch unfortunately taken by the Christchurch Earthquake, has now resurrected as a small team of like minded demolition hand salvagers doing all they can to save and re purpose beautiful timbers saved from damaged buildings. They hand make a variety of items from small picture frames to large tables. Everything is lovingly handmade and each piece has its own character and place of origin, all made of timber from the 2011 Christchurch Earthquakes. "We strongly believe in minimizing waste and reusing what we can to make something practical yet beautiful and full of soul.”
