In 2011 Claire graduated in Jewellery & Metal Smithing at the Dunedin School of Art. Since then she has been creating one of a kind jewellery for galleries throughout New Zealand alongside teaching jewellery making classes.
"I create hand-crafted jewellery that reflects the unique environment of Aotearoa. My childhood in the rainforests of South Westland inspired in me a love for our endemic flora and natural heritage. In my work, I design and fabricate pieces that highlight my favourite native plants and minerals. I specialise in working with pure silver, using processes including fold forming, hand piercing and roll printing. Using a range of hand tools, I enjoy experimenting with textures, shapes and forms in metal”.
