Are you looking for a unique handmade gift that celebrates NZ's biodiversity? This adorable little felt Fantail brooch will make a great gift for bird lovers of all ages. Carefully handcrafted each one by a local textile artist Hayley Meehan.

The intricate felt pieces are carefully hand cut from soft 100% wool felt sheets and hand stitched with love using high quality cotton/satin DMC threads. Birds are filled with new soft synthetic toy filling, finished with a backing pin.

Known for its friendly ‘cheet cheet’ call and energetic flying antics, the fantail is one of the most common and widely distributed native birds on the New Zealand mainland.
