Are you looking for a unique handmade gift that celebrates NZ's biodiversity? This adorable little felt Tui brooch will make a great gift for bird lovers of all ages. Carefully handcrafted each one by a local textile artist Hayley Meehan.

The intricate felt pieces are carefully hand cut from soft 100% wool felt sheets and hand stitched with love using high quality cotton/satin DMC threads. Birds are filled with new soft synthetic toy filling, finished with a backing pin.

Tūī are unique to New Zealand and belong to the honeyeater family, which means they feed mainly on nectar from flowers of native plants. These attractive birds can often be heard singing their beautiful melodies before they are spotted.
