A stunning art piece called Uenuku (Rainbow) by New Zealand artist David Brosnahan. Using a CNC router each piece has been cut from a 12mm MDF board. They’re then sanded and painted using Molotow premium graffiti spray paint and finally glued together. Each Uenuku is made up of 11 pieces.

Uenuku is an atua of rainbows and a prominent ancestor in Māori tradition. He was a tribal war god invoked before battles, particularly in the northern half of the country. It was said that if a taua appeared under the arch of the rainbow, it would be defeated in battle, and likewise, if they appeared to either side of the rainbow, they would be victorious. Māori identify hawk feathers and a particular star called Uenuku as being sacred to him.

Height: 450mm
Width: 200mm
